The S.O.N. EP is the first entry in Shawn Lov's catalogue since 2007's "Waiting For A Ghost" LP which received critical praise in Rolling Stone magazine and various international press. The S.O.N. is a mature, minimalistic, and deliberate collection of songs which were written, performed, produced, and recorded entirely by Shawn Lov.
Beats are strictly creative breaks and boom bap- reminiscent of the days of the SP1200 and MPC60. Topics vary but are grounded by Shawn's reflection of a forgotten sound, and his own search for identity as a white artist whose world view was nurtured by black music and black culture. The S.O.N. EP is the eleventh official collection of music by Underground Hip-Hop mainstay- The Lov Doctor, The Great Cipher Destroyer and the S.O.N.: Shawn Lov.
