about

Shawn Lov's "Raiders of the Lost Art" LP was released in 2002, as a follow-up to the tremendously successful "Never Never Land (2000)" Shortly before recording began on Raiders, Shawn had a split with Flaves Entertainment: the management company/label he co-founded. Left to release this album on his own, Shawn had to acquire his own studio equipment, and seek the help of both the producers of "Never Never Land," as well as newcomers. The track "Don't Touch It" marked Shawn's first collaboration with Custodian of Records, who would later become one of Shawn's regular producers, and who earned tremendous underground success in his own right. Darker than "Never Never Land," The 'Raiders of the Lost Art" LP has developed a cult following over the years, and helped to cement Shawn's reputation for diverse lyrical prowess which later led to his recordings with Nuffsaid records only several years later. Another must-own for any fan of Shawn Lov or Classic New Jersey Hip-Hop.
