about

Shawn Lov's "Wired! EP" was released on Mp3.com in fall of 1999 quickly as a result of popular demand. Because of the success of "The G.O.D." LP, produced by Tony D, and released in 1998, fans of the project were demanding more songs. Instead of waiting for the funds, or resources to record another studio album, Shawn Lov recorded "Wired!" with a microphone, an AKAI MPC 60 II, a DAT machine, and a lot of coffee. No recording programs, no punch-ins, no second takes, no ad-libs, just 1 take verses straight into a DAT machine. The result was one of the most poor quality, most creative, and most experimental albums in the Shawn Lov catalogue. This "Eclectic, Eccentric, Anorexic, Dyslexic" collection, also includes songs from the Mp3.com releases: "Lord of the Living Room," and "Wack Emcees Get Murdered Day," projects also released on mp3.com in 1999. Although unprofessionally recorded, "Wired!" remains a measuring stick for young, white Emcees breaking into the Hip-Hop genre. Enjoy it Free!
