Undefeated (First Demo) [1989]

by Shawn Lov

/

about

At 12, Shawn recorded his first official demo tape. Recording as "Sugar D" with Gary "Kippy" Hines on production. This demo garnered interest from Profile Records by Kevon Glickmon, then lawyer working with Tony D and Poor Righteous Teachers during their first album, "Holy Intellect." The meeting resulted in further efforts from Shawn to pursue Profile and other labels with a follow-up demo and eventually his first project the "Knowledge is Power" EP. A snippit of "The Undefeated" was later used as an intro to the song, "7:59" which appeared on Shawn Lov's LP "The Blackout of 1977" on Nuffsaid Records in 2004.
